ADULT EDUCATION & FELLOWSHIP
We have a potluck dinner at 5:15 PM in the Parish Hall on Wednesdays.
Afterwards, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Adult Classroom, Fr. Carletta is leading a discussion of the Gospel According to John and the Johannine Letters, using a volume in the New Collegeville Bible Commentary series by Scott M. Lewis.
We read one chapter per week. Also, we watch the version of each chapter that is presented in Philip Saville’s 2003 film ‘The Gospel of John.’
On October 8, parishioner Darlene Runyon begins her Women of the Word Bible Study with a three-part series on Rahab, Naomi, and Hagar.
Women’s hearts are exposed and the truth of our nature is revealed as we explore the lives of women in the Bible who asked the same three questions every woman still asks today: How does everyone see me? How do I see myself? How does God see me?
Learn from Rahab the subtle and apparent differences between what we think of ourselves, what society projects on us, and what God’s final word about us says.
Learn from Naomi through trauma, loss, and hardship just how closely God remains. God is not done when we find ourselves done with our circumstances.
Learn from Hagar just what matters and how to dismiss the rest. Hagar demonstrates how to respond when we may not get the answer we seek, but get the answer we truly needed.
Women of the Word meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
