Martin Fendley

Martin joined the Trinity Episcopal Church staff as Organist and Choir Master in January 2015. He is is a voracious researcher, transcriber, and editor of liturgical music from manuscript and other sources for use in worship. Martin studied Music Education at the University of Louisville and has decades of experience in many styles of worship music, including Baptist, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Roman Catholic, and United Church of Christ. His singing languages are English, German, and Latin. Before joining our staff, Martin served at several Kentucky churches, including DeHaven Baptist Church in LaGrange, St. Helen Catholic Church in Louisville, St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Louisville, Highland United Methodist Church in Louisville, Episcopal Church of the Advent in Louisville, and First Lutheran Church in Louisville, as well as St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Martin’s joy in service through music is unmatched. “Music is that language which sometimes, somehow, can give people a glimpse of the Almighty in ways that no other medium can,” he writes. “What a joy and privilege to be a part of it.”
